Keep Walking, Keep Well

We had hoped that the ‘Ireland Lights Up’ walking campaign would start in early 2021 while Operation Transformation aired on RTÉ but due to the Level 5 public health guidelines issued by the Government, this initiative had to be postponed.

Now that Spring has finally arrived, in partnership with Healthy Ireland and Sport Ireland, we are delighted to announce a new 6 week Keep Walking, Keep Well walking initiative. This initiative will take place in April, May and June 2021 with the support of the GAA, Athletics Ireland, Cricket Ireland, Hockey Ireland, the FAI and the IRFU.

The GAA, Athletics Ireland, Cricket Ireland, Hockey Ireland, FAI and IRFU will open up their outdoor spaces, tracks and grounds for a 6-week period starting from the 26th of April onwards (in line with Government guidance) for communities and club members to walk safely and be active while the country continues to recover.

Find your local sports club and book a walk at a date and time that suits you! Clubs and venues will be added on a daily basis; be sure to re-check if your local club has registered.

Book a timeslot through the Get Ireland Walking app available on App Store and Google Play.
