Coronavirus Update

The Get Ireland Walking office is closely monitoring the coronavirus outbreak and the advice from the National Public Health Emergency Team, HSE, and the WHO.

As per the government and HSE social interaction recommendations and our insurers, we recommend that all walking groups/ community gatherings and events for larger groups (100 inside and 500 outside) be postponed until further notice.

Smaller groups are fine to continue walking once they meet these guidelines and take all necessary precautions regarding coronavirus.

The country’s national parks and nature reserves remain open to the public but visitor centres have been closed following Government recommendations last week.

It is advisable to avoid congregating closely in large groups, even in these outdoor areas and to maintain 2 metres between each person in walking groups.

We are now working remotely until the 29th March and can be contacted on

Get Ireland Walking recognises that walking is an activity with a potential risk of personal injury. Participants should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement.
